What could the cause of this be?

So I've been traveling between two different countries recently and I noticed that a few days after I arrive to one place I develop little bubbles underneath the skin of my left thumb, this then becomes mildly itchy and then the skin becomes slightly yellow and hard. The skin then eventually peels off, but it takes a while to do so. Sometimes the dry skin gets under my nail as well. Do any of you know what could be the cause of this and how I can get rid of it as it gets extremely annoying.

I have 2 groups of people grasping an object and I'm measuring the force at each finger. Numb Thumb - Nerve Damage?

The pad and side of my thumb has been numb for about 10 hours now, ever since I shut a door, putting a lot of pressure on the handle on the area where my thumb meets my palm. If I were you, I would make sure your hamster is not in any pain, or bleeding. It takes time to heal, so what you want to do is moniter your hamster closely and see if she acts differently, leave her alone in a cage for a few days, and DO NOT touch the wound, their skin is very delicate, and it would be easy for it to tear. Make sure she gets plenty of rest, thats the best thing you can do, and if it does start bleeding contact a vet immidiately! Guilt of Coming Out Of The Closet?

I have a fear of social situations. How do I act more outgoing?

I want to be outgoing so badly you don't even understand. I am not exactly shy when I'm talking to someone one-on-one, I'll have a good conversation with them and usually talk a lot. But when it comes to being in a small group of people around 5-10, or a classroom, and anything larger, I literally have a fear of these kind of social situations. I can't talk to more than three or four people at a time, otherwise I get so freaked out and act shy and quiet. I'm paranoid that nobody will like me. I also feel like I don't fit in with anybody and everyone is so outgoing in these groups of people and so fun and exciting and they like to party and they do fun stuff. I have never been to a party before (like the "big" ones), I've never had a sip of alcohol before, I've never had a boyfriend and I've never done anything illegal or interesting that these people have done that people seem to like to talk about. Its not like I want to be a drunk sex-obsessed crime breaking partier or anything, but I want to feel like I can understand what everyone else thinks is interesting and I just want to fit in and for once have something interesting to add to a group conversation instead of sitting and listening to everybody's fun life while I sit at home and twiddle my thumbs, wishing I could make friends so easily (I have a terribly hard time making friends) and feel like I actually belong in this college setting. 12.5 yo Lab chow mix recently lost his companion who was 14. Not accepting new puppy?

Otis is our man man and he knows it! We recently lost our Abby who was 14 and they had been together since he was 8 weeks they were very close:( Little background on Otis he is a very sweet healthy for his age and very fit and active. He was well socialized when he was a puppy however he was attacked several times and has since become the aggressor. (He actually tore apart a groundhog in a matter of seconds) So over the past several years we have kept him away from other dogs. On Thursday night we brought home a 14 week old golden doodle and we have been trying to introduce them she perks right up and wants to go to him but he does not want anything to do with her he literally will not look at her and runs the other way when she comes near him he has not growled or nipped at her. He seems to be good with us as well still wagging his tail and getting all his attention. We took them for a walk yesterday and he was good but if she charges at him he just runs away we also had them in the yard with her on a leash and him off so that he could just stay away or get away if she went near him. Here is my main concern I know they need to establish boundaries and I have kind of been putting myself in between them so she does not charge into him and have him bite her. She is submissive and holds back some but then she just can't take it anymore and runs over to him, he really does not like this. I would hate to put a mussel on him but wonder if I did then I could kind of see how he was going to react to her without our inter-fearing I just do not want him to harm her! A nip would be fine if I thought for sure that was all he was going to do but we have seen him fight and it is vicious! Would a dog training class be helpful to him as well to help him become more comfortable with other dogs? Or will this just add to his stress? I love him so much and just want him to be happy and the loss of our other dog has been hard on him and the whole family we thought the puppy would help but now I fear it could make it worse:(

Pregnant? Period? or Paranoid?

Here's my situation. I usually get my period June 10th. However, I had sex June 3rd. It was protected, but there was an accident. The condom broke. We noticed it right away, but timing never makes a difference with these things. Now, I am the type to worry about everything, so of course, the whole 7 days after, I was freaking out. On the 10th, I did not get my period...or the 11th...or the 12th...or the 13th...I grew worried throughout those days. However, on the 14th, I finally gave up and assumed I was pregnant. Then, I got my period. Now, I believe it was my period because it filled up pads for the first 3 days then slowed down the last two (like always, 5 days). I stopped worry for a little while. Then I started googling information to calm myself down and be prepared in case of another scare. Of course, this did not help me. I learned about implantation bleeding and I grew worried again. As I said, the bleeding filled up the pads and it was red all the way through. Not pinkish or brown. So again, I calmed down for a few days. Then 2 weeks after I began having discharge. Again, I began to worry. I am aware that you have frequent discharge during pregnancy. I did some more googling and calculating and came to the conclusion that I was just ovulating. I know you can't ovulate while you're pregnant. My discharge is clear, sticky, and has the "egg white" texture. I was able to stretch it out between my thumb and pointer finger. As you can see, I worry a lot. I took a pregnancy test and it came out negative. I plan on taking another one soon, but in the mean time, am I just stressing myself out too much? Was that my actual period? Help me out. :l I'm quite the worrier as you can see.

I have court date, a lawyer for Workman's comp. It's in two days,here is some details, I was working as a CNA at a nursing facility on the 10 to 6 am shift. We were understaffed, I was the one CNA many times with only a 70 year old co-worker. There is a 40 some year old resident that was in a padded room and Very combative, all the aides were scared of him and leave him often times, he was incontinent and I would find him a mess, so I would always fight with him to get him cleaned up. He has hit and kicked me many before this. Then one night he was really combative and the nurse said she wasn't going to be hit by him anymore and the co CNA has always said she can't deal with him, so I was left to care for him alone. As I was taking off him adult brief he drawled his leg back, like in a fetal position and the kicked me in the side of the head when I was not not looking at him. I was hurt, I went straight and told my charge nurse and filed a incident report. I told our Director of Nursing (DON) within the next 3 days that it wasn't getting better, she sent me to their Doc and she wasn't even a Doctor, but anyway,she ordered Xray's and said I had a torn mussel in my shoulder. So I was on light duty for a week, then let off to full duty. Then I was still hurting all the time and I should of been getting better but was not. Then I was changing a heavy resident and she was using her light a lot that night, more then usual, needing changed..she was also incontinent, but did not wear a adult brief. So I was getting her cleaned up again and my 70 year old coworker was there with me and as I was pulling the dirty sheets and pads out I felt a pop and the pain was horrible, I couldn't even turn my head, barely got home and everything changed I was am so hurt! So I went to my family doctor because I was in pain and I could hardly stand it anymore. He ordered a MRI of my neck and back and a week later he had me come in and said I had 2 ruptured disc's in my neck and bulging disc's om my lower back and degenerate disc disease and arthritis! He said when I was kicked in the head I ruptured 2 disc's and NO WORK..but my boss was sending me threatening text's so I was scared I was going to loose my job and I really loved those people that I cared for and had been there a year and was really used to things and had a routine down. So when I was put on No WORK..I went to my Doctor and begged him to let me work..I told him it's nights and I would take it easy..we had a new girl at this point that was a good worker. He didn't want to but he did and made a note that I would take it easy and so I went to my DON and said he released me..she put me on 2nd shift..where the work is so much harder and put me on the hardest hall. Oh sorry I didn't have the MIR results at this point yet..I was trying to save my job and he put me on light duty at first and then I begged him to let me off and he did because I wanted to go back to my shift but in stead she put me on evening..ok sorry 'bout that...anyway we had a new administrator and he was not nice and the DON was new also. They were on me all the time about when will I be released..so one day I was at work and the administrator came to me and said "Find out right now..call your Doctor and see if the results are in" So I did and they were and I went back to them and said they were but my Doctor wants to see me..so I went and that's when he told me..the next day I was called in the office and accused of passing out a narcotic Zanax! I was SHOCKED to say the least and demanded a drug test..I wanted to read what I was accused of and the denied me this, the next morning I was to call the Human resources department and she said we are not going to give you a drug test we have decided to go another rout and for me come in..I thought they was going to let it go because there was absolutely no truth to this at all!! I got there and they all took me into this room and terminated me right there, and wanted me to sign this paper and I refused and was so upset!! I tried to leave gracefully the DON walked me to my locker and out the door, so humiliating!! I went to my Doctor and told him what happened and he told me I needed a lawyer..so I went home and picked one out of the phone book. He took the case right away, told me to file for unemployment, I did and got it right off because The place where I worked had no proof of what I was being accused of. Now I have been accepted by Workman's comp but under investigation and now is claiming preexisting and now we have court in two day's..I have been waiting for over a year and my insurance has denied all Doctor bill's for my neck and the Workman comp lawyer's have rescheduled the interrogation 3 times so I gave all my Doctor bill's to my lawyer and then all the sudden I have a doctor appointment with their doctor and a court date a week later!! Problem with fingers, please assist?

Last year I started a cookery course and straight after that, I started getting sort of hard skin and bit of tears (not cuts while cooking) in my thumb and indexing finger of my right hand. after using so many creams, bandages etc, the problem goes and comes back again. been more than one year. doctor says it would never go away. it will keep coming back. finger/s start looking better and than there is sort of inflammation followed by a very very small tear and it hurts. could somebody kindly assist me about what is this? why is this? (it does hurt and humiliate in front of other people) and how to get rid of this problem permanently? Please !

Foot Pain! Please Help!!!?

Ok I just got out of a cast thursday because I broke my heel at cheerleading practice. This weekend I had a cheerleading competition (I got permission from my dr. to compete) and I somehow hurt it again. I don't even know what I did. My friends dad is an orthopedic dr. so he looked at my foot and said he thinks its broken because it hurts on the bone but he said I have a slim chance that I could have pulled/torn a mussel. I don't know what to do because I have athletes foot (from my other cast) and if I did break it (again) would they put a cast on it? Is it even possible that I did break it because this is the 3rd time this year. Its not even in the same place as any of the other breaks. Thanks!

What's wrong with my bones?

For several months my thumb would hurt for a couple days every month or so. It felt like it was sprained or broken. It would go away... and come back a couple weeks or months later. My thumbs don't hurt much anymore, but now it's my wrists. Both of them have been hurting but not always at the same time. It also feels like they're sprained, but sometimes its less pain than usual. A couple days ago my ankle started to feel this way, but didn't hurt too bad. And my knee, but just for a day or so. Could it be that I need more calcium? I have no clue. Thanks.

My thumbs get swollen every time i touch something cold... is this normal?

when i hold something cold all my fingers swell up and become very fat. It does feel great because i cant really move them and they are rock solid. The swelling stays for about 20-30 minutes. I have gotten told that maybe i have a circulation problem in my hands but that was by a family member. If you know y this happens or whats wrong please tell me... i hope its nothing bad.. thanks for the help!! :D

Subject-by-subject contrasting essay (too many transitions?)?

I know when you write a subject-by-subject essay you need transitions in the second half of the paragraph, to show the reader that you're kind of.. changing gears I guess. Is there a rule of thumb about HOW MANY transitions are needed? Just one, or a few? Or can you have too many? I'd hate to put too few, but would be even more miserable if I put a lot of unnecessary words in my essay. So i do taekwondo and i need to be flexible. Im pretty flexible myself but i still need to be more flexible. Im learning how to do splits now. Few days ago i went all the way down. My mussels were really sore the day after. They were sore for about 4-5 days. I work at an ice cream store in and I was the one that trained her it was just me and her working that day and we got talking about a lot of things like our favourite music which we both have in common and then we joked around a bit and that’s when I found out she had a boyfriend. The day was made even better when we were closing down and she said thank you for today. I have trained a few girls one being her cousin and not once has anyone said that. Now whenever she sees me even when she is with friends or her boyfriend she comes over and says hello and asks how I am doing. Is she just being polite and friendly or is she showing she likes me? My weirdest was I was watching a Shane Dawson video, and he made a video with SwiftKarateChop. It was an iPhone video, so we could see him editing it. The video was just them sitting and talking about something with a complete black background. And he was going frame by frame, and in each frame some creepy pedo guy appears out of nowhere in the center of the screen, like a ghost. Frames later, he was gone. I cut my thumb on a cucumber slicer, need help!?

A couple of days ago I accidentally sliced a little part of my thumb. I put a band-aid and neosporin on it and I change it out every day. A little part of my skin (where I cut it) is still half hanging on to my wound. It's still not attaching to my wound. Pug that is eating poop?

i have a 1 1/2 yr old pug that eats its own poop we have tried every commercial product and taken her to the vet to make sure all is ok. the vet has no suggestions for us.any help? she does this all the time even in her crate at night we still have not been able to housebreak her because she just dosent hold it she just goes and will eat it.we tried putting dipers on her but she just tears them off and a mussel will not be a option because our vet said it would not be safe due to he being a pug with a very flat nose. Small swollen bump under the skin on my palm?

My wife has had this bump 'in' her hand for the past 2 months almost. We have tried popping it, and nothing comes out but clear liquid sometimes. It is located in the general area between her index finger and thumb on her palm. It started out small and progressively got worse, it was very tender and painful for her to touch it or to use anything with that hand. Just from observation it looked as if it was swelling like there was a splinter in her hand and it was just getting infected, BUT it had since disappeared (swelling and redness gone away), and returned 2 other times. Each time it turns the area red-ish and bruised looking very bad. If anyone knows another suggestion of what this could possibly be please help, and if you can email me I may be able to provide a picture of what it looks like exactly. Thanks for the help.

Will My Green Spotted Puffer Chew on things to Wear their Teeth down? Or do I have to feel them Hard things?

I have 2 green spotted puffers, both 1 1/2 inches.... yes, they are in brackish water and yes I know how aggressive they are supposedly, but they are fine together and yes I will watch for aggression as they get older, anyway, not what my question is. Now I know they have teeth (beak) that needs to be worn down by the puffers eating things with hard shells like snails, oysters, or muscles. Now I just came from the ocean and found a whole bunch of awesome shells on the beach, I have put them in a bleach and water solution as well as boiled them for about an hour, so they are sanitized and I placed them in the tank. I also know shells help raise the hardness as well which is good for the puffers. I found 2 awesome HUGE mussel shells, clam shells and conch shells. Will my puffers chew on the shells naturally to wear down their teeth? Because I am having a very hard time trying to get them to eat snails! I have had them for about a week and a half and I have tried over and over to try to get them to eat snails. I even tried a live crab, but I haven't been able to get them to wear their teeth down. They eat blood worms without issue though. So, will they chew on the shells, because that would be awesome if they did it themselves!
